Sommaire
A place dedicated to art, history and discovery
Built at the end of the 18th century, it has been owned by the town since 1977. Beautifully restored, it now offers visitors a captivating cultural experience. The rich history of this building, once a boarding school for young girls in the 20th century, gives this space a unique atmosphere, full of memories and stories. After being used as a home for the elderly until 2013, it was carefully renovated in 2019 to become a municipal cultural space. The temporary exhibitions on display offer a variety of contemporary artworks, crafts and installations, creating a dialogue between the historic heritage of the space and modern artistic expression.
Visitors can enjoy a peaceful garden, perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating after exploring the exhibitions. Located in the heart of Cavaillon, in the historic centre, the Espace Culturel Léon Colombier is surrounded by other cultural treasures such as the Musée Archéologique de l'Hôtel Dieu, the Roman Arch of Cavaillon, the Cathédrale Notre-Dame et Saint-Véran, the Chapelle Saint-Jacques and many others. Access to this cultural space is free, offering an opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in art and history.
