The Bojarski Affair retraces the singular journey of a man torn between creative genius and darker sides, set in post-war France. Inspired by a true story, this French film by Jean-Paul Salomé relies on strong dramatic tension and a carefully crafted historical reconstruction.

Starring Reda Kateb, Sara Giraudeau and Bastien Bouillon, the film is presented in a special screening in Lourmarin as part of the travelling cinema Le Cigalon, an Art House cinema.

A film inspired by a true story

The Bojarski Affair is inspired by the real-life fate of Jan Bojarski, a Polish engineer who sought refuge in France during the Second World War. Gifted with exceptional talent, he put his skills at the service of the Resistance by forging false documents during the German occupation.
After the Liberation, deprived of any official administrative existence, he faced the impossibility of having his inventions recognised. This situation gradually led him into a dangerous downward spiral, eventually drawing the attention of one of the finest police inspectors of the time.
