Conference on the Purim festival organised by the Cavaillon Heritage and Museums Department.

The festival of Purim is celebrated every year at the end of winter. Featuring the courage of a woman, Esther, and a plot twist worthy of the greatest suspense films, this celebration is of major importance to the Jewish community, for all ages. Children (and adults!) love to dress up for the occasion, but why? Find out during a conference that draws on ethnographic studies of carnival rituals, among other sources.
