Two exhibitions to better understand fake news, yesterday and today. Between history, art and media, explore our relationship with information in the digital age with CLEMI and BnF.
Disinformation, fiction, images: a major civic issue.
What is our relationship with information in the digital and instantaneous age? What about reliable information that allows for reflection? These are the questions addressed by these two exhibitions, which show us fake news from a historical and contemporary perspective. ‘Fake news: art, fiction, lies’ takes the view that artists can help us see the world differently.
Each guest artist talks to us, in their own way, about the role of the media, the internet, social networks, and the ever-increasing flow of information and images. ‘The history of fake news’ teaches us that disinformation, lies, hoaxes, propaganda and ‘fake news’ are nothing new. CLEMI has joined forces with the National Library of France to address this issue, which is essential to our democracy.
The Centre for Media and Information Literacy aims to encourage responsible media use.
The National Library of France aims to collect, catalogue, preserve, enrich and share the nation's documentary heritage.
