Restoring Heritage is Quite a Story!

Why, since when and how do we restore heritage? We have all seen workers labouring on the cathedral site, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. Before reaching that stage, researchers, artists, engineers, historians and archaeologists worked for months and wrote thousands of pages of studies.
How do the “doctors” at the bedside of our ailing heritage establish their diagnosis? It is this behind-the-scenes work that we want to show you through examples from a decade of restoration work in Cavaillon.

The exhibition is not just for grown-ups!

Just like a patient at the doctor's, ancient objects and monuments often suffer from a pathology and have symptoms. A diagnosis must therefore be made and treatment provided. This is precisely what this exhibition is about. Using a free activity booklet available at the exhibition reception, you will have to solve puzzles to find the mystery object or monument.
