Sommaire

Photographic Exhibition by Stéphane Artous. Coming from the gothic/post-punk culture of the 80s and 90s, Stéphane Artous has retained his taste for darkness and difference.
After a career as a computer engineer, Stéphane Artous completely changed direction to become a cabinetmaker, then a stonemason, a car mechanic... and suddenly, Stéphane took to the streets and became a photographer.
The big names in photography called him: ‘they invited him elsewhere’:
From Lee Jeffries, Bruce Gilden, Hirving Penn, Dorothea Lange to Richard Avedon and Gordon Parks, to name but a few.
He went out, he left, he dared and started taking street photos. It was only natural that he became interested in those who live on the streets, or end up on the streets: the homeless, the marginalised, the broken, you know, those whose presence disturbs, but also those who go down there, the activists, the committed.
His photographic work invites you to dive where your eyes dare not look deeply: into their eyes.
To look at them is to have the courage to make their dignity visible again, to never accept indifference, to allow yourself to encounter the other.
Exhibition opening: 9 January from 6pm
