Between auditions, meetings and musical discoveries, the Gordes International Melody Competition celebrates vocal excellence and the emotion of live performance.
The prestigious Gordes International Melody Competition returns for its 18th edition, under the direction of Monic Cecconi-Botella, a major figure in contemporary musical creation and artistic transmission.
This unmissable event in the lyrical world highlights the young talents of the international vocal scene through public auditions open to all. Soloists and voice-piano duos perform their interpretation of the great melody repertoire before a jury composed of renowned personalities from the world of opera and classical music.
In the exceptional setting of Gordes, this competition offers a rare immersion into the world of voice, interpretation and artistic excellence, in the heart of the Luberon.
The auditions are open to the public, subject to available seating, allowing everyone to discover promising young artists and experience an important moment in lyrical musical life.
The jury is chaired by the great soprano Leontina Vaduva and brings together many personalities from the world of opera, artistic direction and classical music in France, Switzerland and internationally.
Among them: Valérie Chevalier, Eve Coquart, Victoria Jung, Xavier Adenot, Jules Bigey, Jérôme Brunetière, Patrick Canac, Cyril Diederich, Frédéric Roels, Éric Rouchaud, Richard Martet, as well as many opera directors, conductors, artistic advisors and performing arts professionals.
The auditions will be accompanied on piano by Ayaka Niwano and Juliette Sabbah, accompanist pianists.
