How to get to and around the Luberon? The area is accessible by car via the A7 motorway, by train via Cavaillon or Pertuis, by bus with local and regional networks, and by bike along several major cycling routes. Once you are here, shuttle services, taxis, private hire vehicles and rental services make it easy to reach the villages and main attractions of the Luberon.

The Luberon is easily accessible by car via the A7 motorway, also known as the Autoroute du Soleil. The most convenient exit is exit no. 25 - Cavaillon / L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue / Apt, which brings you within just a few minutes of the heart of the Luberon.

Once you leave the motorway, main roads such as the RD900, RD973 and RN7 make it easy to reach the Luberon’s iconic villages, including Gordes, Lourmarin, Ménerbes and Roussillon.
Several electric vehicle charging points are available throughout the Luberon, close to villages, car parks and major roads. Below is a selection of publicly accessible charging points. This list is provided for information only and is not exhaustive.

Make the most of practical and environmentally friendly transport options for getting around Cavaillon and the Luberon. Urban bus services, local shuttles and regional routes make it easy to reach the main transport hubs and key locations across the area.
The CmonBus network serves Cavaillon’s main neighbourhoods and key stops via routes A, B, C, D and E. Below you will find the timetable for each route, as well as the complete network map.

CmaNavette connects Les Vignères, Robion and Les Taillades with Cavaillon railway station using a 9-seat shuttle bus.
The service provides six return journeys per day for each destination, with an estimated journey time of 10 to 15 minutes.
The shuttle operates from Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Free shuttle service
To make getting around Cavaillon easier, a free shuttle service provides quick access to the town centre.
The Grenouillet park-and-ride facility offers 220 free, video-monitored parking spaces. You can leave your vehicle there and continue your journey by shuttle to Cavaillon town centre.
This shuttle service corresponds to Route C of the CmonBus network.

ZOU! regional bus routes provide connections to several towns and villages in the Luberon, Vaucluse and neighbouring departments. Check the timetables for the main routes serving the area.
Travelling with a bike? Bikes can be carried on certain ZOU! routes, including route 915 Avignon - Coustellet - Apt - Forcalquier. Boarding conditions and the number of spaces available may vary, so remember to check before travelling.

The Luberon is accessible by train from the region’s main railway stations. Several services and connections make it possible to reach Cavaillon or Pertuis from Avignon, Marseille and Marseille Provence Airport.
From Avignon, departing from either the TGV station or Avignon Centre station, and from Marseille, departing from Saint-Charles station, several train services provide connections to Cavaillon, Pertuis and other stations close to the Luberon.
Remember to check the timetables before travelling so that you can plan your connections with buses, shuttle services and other transport options available in the area.
From Marseille Provence Airport
A shuttle service connects the terminals with Vitrolles-Aéroport Marseille Provence TER station. From there, you can continue by train towards Marseille or Avignon, then travel on to the Luberon with a connecting service.
Travelling with a bike?
Depending on the train and timetable, bicycles may be carried on TER services. Remember to check the boarding conditions before travelling.
Soft mobility
The Luberon can be reached by bike via several major national and European cycling routes. From the Rhône Valley, the Alps, the Mediterranean coast or Marseille, different cycle routes provide access to the area before you continue your journey along the Luberon’s cycling itineraries.
EuroVelo 8
EuroVelo 8 - The Mediterranean by bike connects Le Perthus with Menton and passes directly through Cavaillon, the western gateway to the Luberon.
From Cavaillon, the route continues towards Apt, notably along the Calavon Cycle Route, making it possible to cross the heart of the Luberon by bike.

The Durance by bike - V862 links the Hautes-Alpes with Provence, following the Durance Valley.
From Villeneuve, the route reaches Cavaillon along a section of around 100 km, including part of the V863 Around the Luberon by bike route.
Two alternatives allow you to cross the Luberon: a northern route via Apt, Bonnieux and Lacoste, or a southern route via Manosque and the Pays d’Aigues.
Other routes
The area can also be reached from the Rhône Valley via the ViaRhôna - EuroVelo 17, followed by the Via Venaissia - V861, as well as from Marseille to Pertuis via the V864.
Several routes allow you to continue your cycling journey, including Around the Luberon by bike - V863, a large loop around the massif, as well as numerous circuits and cycle routes through the area’s villages, vineyards and landscapes.
