Set in a mysterious and oppressive Tehran, Jasmine tells a story of love and freedom. Directed by Alain Ughetto, this animated film uses modelling clay to bring its characters to life and features the voices of Jean-Pierre Darroussin and Fanzaneh Ramzi.
The film’s original composer, Isabelle Courroy, revisits her score in a live performance. Viol, flutes, clarinet and vocals accompany the images, bringing new resonance to the animated material taking shape on screen.
Combining animation and live performance, this open-air film concert offers an intimate and sensitive experience, shaped by a delicate dialogue between music and images.

Presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2013, Jasmine uses modelling clay to give physical form to the characters, memories and emotions of its story.
By performing the original score live, Isabelle Courroy transforms each screening into a living experience. The sounds of the viol, flutes, clarinet and voice extend and enhance the movements of the animated material.
The audience is not simply watching a film: they are experiencing the encounter between a cinematic work and a musical performance created live in the moment.
The evening is organised by the Lauris Cultural Department in partnership with the arthouse cinema La Strada, with support from the Vaucluse Department.
