On November 27, 2026 in Lourmarin, the concert Le Souffle du Berger brings together baroque music and pastoral songs to evoke the life of shepherds, transhumance and landscapes. The evening is extended by a citizen debate on contemporary pastoralism.

Le Souffle du Berger explores the lives of shepherds and the richness of pastoral landscapes through a musical program that combines scholarly repertoires and popular traditions. From European Baroque to songs from pastoral territories, the concert brings together several musical worlds.
Transhumance, night vigils, village dances and shepherds' calls form the common thread of this journey. Music thus becomes a way of evoking the gestures, rhythms and landscapes linked to pastoralism.
The concert is part of the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoral Herders and continues with a time of exchange dedicated to the contemporary challenges of pastoralism.
Founded in 2017 by Valentin Tournet, La Chapelle Harmonique brings together singers and instrumentalists specialized in early music. The ensemble interprets a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the Baroque, in formations ranging from chamber music to choral and orchestral ensembles.
The Chapelle Harmonique has performed in particular at the Palace of Versailles, at the Auditorium de Radio France, at the Auditorium de Radio France, at the Louvre Museum as well as in several festivals, including Beaune, La Chaise-Dieu, La Chaise-Dieu, Auvers-sur-Oise, and Saint-Denis.
Violist and artistic director, Valentin Tournet founded the ensemble after training in viola da gamba and conducting. In 2022, he became the first violist nominated for the Revelations of the Victoires de la Musique Classique.
After the concert, the evening continues with a citizen debate bringing together actors from the pastoral world: breeders, shepherds, pastoral federations, experts and institutional representatives.
The evolutions and modernity of the breeding and shepherding professions.
The sustainable management of spaces, natural resources and the preservation of biodiversity.
The valorization of pastoral productions and the challenges that the sector is facing today.
