On Friday, December 11, 2026, the Entre Deux Mondes concert brings together classical piano and a jazz quartet based on Shostakovich at the Moulin Saint-Julien in Cavaillon, each piece being first played faithfully to the original score before being reinvented by jazz.

At the Moulin Saint-Julien in Cavaillon, Entre deux Mondes explores Shostakovich's work at the crossroads of two musical aesthetics: classical tradition and jazz. The concert thus brings together classical piano and jazz quartet around the work of the 20th century composer.
Each piece is first performed in a version faithful to the original score, before changing the language and being reinvented by the jazz quartet. The public can thus hear the same work under two successive readings, between writing and improvisation.
The principle of Between Two Worlds is based on a musical confrontation: to hear Shostakovich's writing, then to observe how this same material can be transformed by the codes and improvisation of jazz.
Each piece is first performed in accordance with its original writing, giving voice to Shostakovich's composition.
The jazz quartet then takes up the same piece to reinvent it through improvisation and offer a second musical reading.
