Debora Waldman Conducting, excellence & emotion

A tribute to an outstanding conductor

This concert pays tribute to Debora Waldman, whose artistic career and musical commitment have left their mark on the seasons of the Musicales du Luberon. As her career takes on an increasingly international dimension, this evening highlights her exacting standards, sensitivity and enduring connection with music lovers.

Under her baton, the Orchestre National Avignon-Provence will bring the full power of its sound to an intense Romantic programme, combining sweeping orchestral passages, dramatic tension and stirring moments of celebration.

The presence of Eva Zavaro, a violinist acclaimed for the maturity of her playing, promises a particularly expressive performance of Brahms’ Violin Concerto.

Programme Mendelssohn & Brahms

Two masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire

Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3, the “Scottish”, unfolds with sweeping, luminous writing, driven by powerful lyricism and an energy that culminates in a celebratory finale.

In contrast, Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto invites a more introspective yet equally intense listening experience. This demanding work requires exceptional technical mastery and rare expressive depth from the soloist.

Programme for the evening:
Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847): Symphony No. 3, the “Scottish”
Johannes Brahms (1833-1897): Violin Concerto
