Symphonic Elans, tribute to Debora Waldman

Mendelssohn's “Scottish” Symphony No. 3 stands out for its lyricism and energy, culminating in an exalted finale with accents of celebration. In contrast, Brahms's Violin Concerto responds to this same quest for strength and consistency. One of the most demanding works in the repertoire, it requires absolute mastery and exceptional expressive power.
Eva Zavaro, a young artist, recognized among the most gifted of her generation, and who thrilled us last September, is asserting herself there with remarkable maturity and a striking depth of play. In perfect complicity with Debora Waldman, she knows how to draw the Orchestre National Avignon-Provence into a vibrant reading, especially in the suspended passages, until the irresistible momentum of the last movement. A magnificent evening to wish that the New World of music was offered to this great lady!
