Exhibition ‘Between Dream and Matter’, bringing together two artists with poetic and complementary worlds: painter Christine Tresca and sculptor Roland Roure.
Place de l'ancienne Mairie, 84220, Cabrières-d'Avignon
From 02/01 to 31/05/2026 from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 6 pm. On Saturday between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm.

A unique artist, Roland Roure first immersed himself in painting before leaving Paris for Provence in 1966. It was while making toys for his children that he discovered his true artistic language: creations that are poetic, funny and deeply human.
His works – weather vanes, sculptures, puppets and sets – quickly attracted collectors and institutions, from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris to the Aspen Museum in the United States, as well as collaborations with the worlds of theatre, ballet and opera.
Always in search of freedom, Roure cultivates a universe where wire, wood and sheet metal become the medium for mythical and intimate stories: desire, celebration and human fragility.

Christine Tresca's work lies at the crossroads of figurative and abstract art. Her inspiration comes from emotions, objects or landscapes, often transcribed from photographic fragments that she transforms into paintings. Her subtle and nuanced palette oscillates between the greys and browns of the North and the luminous ochres of the South. Her works evoke nature – stones, trees, landscapes – in a meditative dimension close to the Japanese spirit of wabi-sabi.
Attached to the materiality of the medium, she makes her canvases from vintage cotton and linen, sometimes enriched with embroidery and prints, giving a tactile and poetic depth to her creations.
