On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the Lavender Museum Luberon celebrates Mother’s Day with a special day dedicated to sharing and discovery.
For the occasion, free entry is offered to all mothers. A great family outing idea in the Luberon to discover the world of fine lavender from Provence through an immersive, sensory and accessible visit.

The tour offers a deeper understanding of the world of fine lavender from Provence and answers many questions visitors often have. Which lavender actually grows in Provence? How can you tell the difference between fine lavender and lavandin? What varieties are cultivated in the region and how are they used?
The visit also explores the history of lavender in Provence, its connection to traditional distillation, essential oil extraction methods and the evolution of harvesting techniques from past to present.
A film shown on site immerses visitors in the traditional distillation of mountain fine lavender, as it is still practiced on the family estate of the Château du Bois, on the Albion plateau.
The visit continues at your own pace with an audio-guided tour, allowing you to explore an exceptional collection of more than 350 authentic objects related to lavender growing. Antique stills, a Garnier wheel, retorts, tools and traditional clothing illustrate the techniques and expertise behind lavender cultivation.
Children also enjoy a tailored experience, with a fun quiz, a “young lavender grower” diploma, a drawing area and interactive digital game tables. A simple and engaging way to discover the museum as a family while keeping younger visitors fully involved.
To extend the experience, the museum shop offers a sensory discovery of essential oils, hydrosols and fragrances made from fine lavender with AOP certification, directly linked to the estate’s local production.
Museum visitors benefit from a 20% discount in the shop. A thoughtful touch to make this Mother’s Day a moment of discovery, sharing and pleasure in the heart of the Luberon.
