On Sunday 18 October 2026 at 6 pm in Oppède, “Jules & Marcel” brings to the stage the friendship between Marcel Pagnol and Jules Raimu through their correspondence, blending humour, complicity, disagreements and affection.
Presented by Oppède Cultures, “Jules & Marcel” is based on the correspondence exchanged between Marcel Pagnol and Jules Raimu. The performance offers an insight into the deep and passionate relationship between two major figures of French theatre and cinema.
Through their letters, their complicity, mutual admiration, disagreements and strong personalities gradually emerge. Adapted for the stage by Pierre Tré-Hardy and directed by F. Richaud, the text brings their friendship to life with humour and emotion, revealing a relationship that was both artistic and deeply human.
