In The Alchemist, the Les Vagabonds theatre company brings Paulo Coelho’s celebrated novel to the stage. Guided by a dream, Santiago leaves his native Andalusia and sets off on a journey of discovery in search of a hidden treasure. This poetic and inspiring production is presented free of charge at the Moulin Saint-Julien in Cavaillon.
Guided by a dream revealing the existence of a hidden treasure, Santiago leaves behind his life as a young Andalusian shepherd and embarks on an extraordinary journey. His travels take him to the foot of the Egyptian pyramids, via Tangier and the Sahara Desert.
Through a series of encounters and challenges, Santiago learns to listen to his heart, recognise the signs of destiny and pursue his own personal legend. His search for treasure gradually becomes an inner journey and an invitation to follow his dreams to the very end.
Benjamin Bouzy adapted Paulo Coelho’s philosophical tale for the stage and directs the production. The cast alternates between Fabien Floris, Roxanne Bennett, Guillaume Reitz, Kévin Poli, Myriam Anbare and Benjamin Bouzy. The sets and costumes are designed by Cécilia Galli, with lighting design by Cyrille Coe.
Presented free of charge with no ticket required, this performance is organised in partnership with the Cavaillon multimedia library.
