Every summer, the Sunset Concerts bring lyrical music to the heart of Oppède-le-Vieux, in one of the Luberon’s most remarkable heritage settings.
As daylight fades, Place de la Croix becomes an open-air stage where opera, lyrical voices, young talents and musicians come together against the backdrop of the village’s historic stone buildings.
Under the artistic and musical direction of Cyril Diederich, the festival offers a distinctive experience at the crossroads of music, heritage and live performance.

From 14 to 18 August 2026, the festival’s 10th edition featured La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini alongside a concert dedicated to emerging lyrical talents.
Over three evenings, Place de la Croix hosted La Bohème, one of the most iconic operas in the repertoire. In the setting of Oppède-le-Vieux, this story of youth, love and fragility came to life in the open air under the musical direction of Cyril Diederich.

The festival concluded with an evening devoted to a new generation of lyrical artists. The programme explored a wide range of styles, from Haydn to Strauss, with works by Massenet and Bernstein along the way.

Much of the unique character of the Sunset Concerts comes from the setting of Oppède-le-Vieux. As daylight fades, voices, orchestra and the village’s historic stone buildings come together to create an experience in which lyrical music is intimately connected with the heritage and landscape of the Luberon.
