Discover We would read the South in Cavaillon with a creative workshop, poetic writing, calligraphy and a meeting around children's books and creation in the South region.
Médiathèque, 60 Rue Véran Rousset, 84300, Cavaillon
Wednesday 10 June 2026. 2.30 pm: workshop 5 pm: meet-and-greet and book signing.

We would read the South invites the public to discover literary and graphic creation in the South region, through appointments in libraries and bookstores.
At the La Durance media library in Cavaillon, this meeting honors Editions Le Port a Jauni, a Marseilles-based publishing house that publishes children's albums and poetic books in French and Arabic.
On June 10, 2026, children from 6 years old and the general public will be able to participate in a drawing and poetic writing workshop with Juliette Iturralde and Mathilde Chèvre, followed by a meeting-signing around their unique editorial universe.
Using the bilingual Arabic-French picture book Vers de terre, participants will explore Arabic words, shapes, colors, and calligraphy to create an original take-home card.
This meeting is aimed at children from 6 years old, but also at families and adults who are curious to discover a creative approach to books, images and languages.
Juliette Iturralde develops a universe nourished by artistic practices, books, workshops and transmission. She published Je Meurs d'Amour et de Colombes, based on poems by Edith Azam, and Vers de terre, with Le Port a Jauni publishing house.
Mathilde Chèvre grew up between France and Algeria, then lived around the Mediterranean, from Cairo to Damascus. Based in Marseille, she runs the publishing house Le Port a Jauni. An author and illustrator for children, she explores the links between literature, languages, images and Mediterranean cultures.
Based in Marseille, Editions Le Port a Jauni publish children's albums and poetic books in French and Arabic. Their bilingual books play with the double meaning of reading both languages and offer each publication an original graphic universe.
This editorial project invites us to go beyond the usual representations to offer another access to the world, through poetry, image and the encounter between languages.
A great opportunity to discover a unique publishing house, to create with words and images, and to share a poetic moment around children's books.
