Sports enthusiasts will love this environment, where you can enjoy cycling, mountain biking, canoeing, horse riding, fishing, golf and hiking. The Cedar forest at Bonnieux, the Provençal Colorado at Rustrel and the ochre trail at Roussillon, not forgetting walks in our hilltop villages such as Gordes (Abbaye de Sénanque and the Village des Bories), Lacoste and the château of the Marquis de Sade (owned by Pierre Cardin), Bonnieux and its 2 churches, its fountains and its bakery museum, Saignon, with its wash-houses and its Belle vue rock, Lourmarin for its flower-filled lanes, its renaissance castle and its Friday and Tuesday night markets (an agricultural market where culinary arts, oenology, heritage and local farm produce give the typical markets of Provence their letters of nobility). Famous writers have lived here (Camus, Bosco). L'Isle sur la Sorgue and its famous Sunday market, town of antique dealers, wheels and the magnificent Sorgue. ST Rémy de Provence, Sault and its lavender festival on 15 August, and Les Baux de Provence, Fontaine de Vaucluse, probably one of the most visited natural sites in the Vaucluse. The main reason for its success is the impressive spring that gushes out of the bottom of a 230 m-high cliff. This gigantic fountain is the most powerful in France (and the fifth most powerful in the world), with an annual water flow of 630 million cubic metres.
Its emerald-green waters, usually calm in summer, become spectacular during flood periods (in autumn and spring): 90 m³ per second pour into the bed of the Sorgue.
And let's not forget that our region has a multitude of wine routes, where the saying goes: "A day without wine is a day without sunshine".
Known the world over, the wines and vineyards of the Vaucluse region boast a prestigious list of famous crus: Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise and, dear to my palate, Ventoux.
The village is 2.5 km away, where you'll find all the shops, a very good bakery and good little restaurants. Supermarkets in Mallemort 3.5 km away. Sénas motorway 11km away. Aix en Provence 40 minutes away and Marseille 55 minutes.
I prefer direct and human contact. Arrival and departure times can be negotiated.
No smoking inside the house, only on the terraces, and precautions must be taken due to the risk of forest fires.
Our 4-legged friends are welcome under certain conditions.
