On April 2, 2027 in Cavaillon, Families other than mine question what makes family. Based on testimonies collected from foster families, educators and foster children, Estelle Savasta composes a fiction about resilience, chosen relationships and the possibility of rebuilding oneself.

To build this room, Estelle Savasta conducted a survey of foster families, educators, foster children and those who, on a daily basis, try to maintain relationships and rebuild their bearings.
From these testimonies was born a fiction in which several trajectories intersect: Nora, placed in a foster family when she was a baby, Ariane, her best friend, and Nino, with a darker background.
Their stories question the family, not only as a birth link, but also as a chosen, constructed and sometimes reinvented link.
At the center of the stage, a large family table becomes in turn the place for meals, confidences, confrontations, silences and sometimes dance.
Fragments of life come together gradually, like pieces of a puzzle. Through these journeys, the piece explores resilience, reinvention, and the power of selected relationships.
A way of reminding us that the family can also be built differently, through meetings and relationships that allow us to find a place again and to form, little by little, a “us”.
