Saturday 17 October 2026 between 11 am and 1.30 pm.
On the occasion of Vignobles en Scène 2026, the Domaine La Citadelle in Menerbes invites you to live a privileged wine tourism experience between visits to the cellars, tasting of old vintages and gastronomy.
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, go behind the scenes of the estate, discover the secrets of wine production and aging, then take a seat in the heart of the cellar to taste several vintages preserved over the years. The experience will continue around a seasonal lunch in three stages, designed to reveal the pairings between food and wine.
First step
How does a wine come about? What happens between the arrival of the grapes in the cellar and the moment when a bottle can finally be tasted? This experience begins with a discovery of the areas where Domaine La Citadelle wines are made.
From the winemaking cellar to the aging cellar, explore the places where each vintage is built, evolves and patiently. An immersion as close as possible to the work of the cellar to better understand the choices that accompany the wine throughout its production.
An essential first step before moving on to tasting and measuring, in the glass, everything that time can bring to a wine.
Second stage
Then move on to a rarer moment: the tasting of old vintages from Domaine La Citadelle.
Settled around barrel tables, in the very heart of the wine cellar, you will discover a selection of wines that have continued to evolve over the years. Aromas, structure, balance, texture: each vintage bears the memory of a harvest and tells the story of the work of the estate in its own way.
An opportunity to compare the expressions of wine over time and to discover how a few years of aging can transform its profile and reveal new nuances.
Third stage
After the cellars and the old vintages, the experience continues around the table with a seasonal lunch in three stages: starter, main course and dessert.
Prepared by the Bistrot de La Citadelle team from local products, the menu is designed to make the plates interact with the wines of the estate.
Flavors, textures and aromas respond to each other throughout the meal to extend the tasting in a different way. A gourmet break where wine no longer only accompanies the dish: it fully participates in the experience.
On the program: a visit to the cellar and the cellar, tasting of old vintages and then a three-part seasonal lunch with food and wine pairings.
A commented experience
The visit and the tasting will be led by Sébastien Pierre, Cellar Master and Oenologist at Domaine La Citadelle.
Throughout the course and the wines tasted, he will share behind the scenes of his profession and will give the keys to better understand the development, aging and evolution of vintages.
An encounter that gives another dimension to wine tasting: that of being able to discuss directly with a professional who accompanies the wines in the cellar until they mature.
From 16 to 18 October 2026
