Visit to the Ruchers des Messeguières farm

In Lauris, at the foot of the Luberon, Les Ruchers des Mességuières open the doors of their beekeeping farm for you to discover the world of bees. In a peaceful rural setting, this visit invites young and old to better understand the life of the hive, the work of the beekeeper and the stages of honey production, as close as possible to a family farm engaged in organic farming.

Here, the experience is not limited to a simple tasting. The visit allows you to discuss the essential role of bees in pollination and biodiversity, while discovering the daily life of passionate beekeepers. Les Ruchers des Mességuières raise around 400 transhumant hives, which makes it possible to follow the blossoms and produce several honeys with varied flavors, in direct connection with the landscapes and seasons of Provence.

During the meeting, you will also discover the behind the scenes of honey extraction, the specificities of the different harvests and the close link between land, flowers and aromas. Lavender honey, garrigue honey and other sweets from the hive reveal all the richness of artisanal know-how. In particular, the farm produces honeys using organic farming, with IGP Miel de Provence recognition for certain products.

The visit is also an opportunity to discover a living and authentic farm. In addition to beekeeping activities, the place also hosts some farm animals, such as sheep, chickens or canes, which contribute to the warm atmosphere of the site. This sensitive and educational approach makes it a particularly suitable outing for families, but also for school groups, extracurricular groups or groups wishing to experience a moment of discovery in contact with the agricultural world.
