The Destination Luberon Tourist Office, along with the tourist offices of Luberon Sud Tourisme, Pays d'Apt Luberon, Isle sur la Sorgue Tourisme, and Pertuis, has been awarded the Vignobles & Découvertes (V&D) "Vignoble du Luberon" label, granted by Atout France.

The Vignobles & Découvertes label is a national distinction created in 2009 and awarded to a wine tourism destination for a period of three years. It aims to highlight the quality of the region’s wine tourism offerings, showcasing vineyards, restaurants, activity providers, and other businesses committed to promoting local wines. It serves as a mark of excellence for discovering an exceptional vineyard.
For wine enthusiasts, this label ensures a high-quality experience, along with the convenience of simplified and guided reservations, benefiting from expert recommendations to make the best choice.
Certified since March 14, 2022, the Luberon destination already includes over a hundred certified partners committed to promoting and enhancing the wines of Luberon.
Situated between the Rhône Valley and the Mediterranean, the AOC Luberon stretches from east to west in the southern part of the Vaucluse department, on the left bank of the Rhône, surrounding the Luberon mountain. The vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate with continental and alpine influences, resulting in cooler nighttime temperatures that bring a refreshing character to Luberon wines.
The entire Luberon Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) area is located within the boundaries of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, a lush setting with remarkable natural richness.
In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Destination Luberon is the seventh territory to achieve this prestigious distinction. The Luberon vineyard naturally takes its place alongside “Pays d’Aix-Sud Luberon,” “La Provence Verte,” and “Autour du Ventoux.”

Production of all three wine colors across more than 3,000 hectares of vineyards, planted on the slopes and foothills of the Luberon Massif. This is the southernmost terroir of the Rhône Valley.
Here, the vineyards are situated at an altitude ranging from 200 to 450 meters. The terroir is diverse, featuring Miocene sands in the Pays d'Aigues, limestone scree at the foot of the mountains, and the distinctive red clay found near Apt. The mountainous presence creates significant temperature variations, preserving the freshness of the red wines and allowing for substantial white wine production. These thermal variations enhance the full aromatic expression of Luberon wines.
This terroir reaches its full potential with a diverse production of 117,000 hectoliters of wine: 23% red, 54% rosé, and 23% white.
