A historic winery in the heart of the Luberon
Nestled in the enchanting landscapes of the Luberon, Château de Mille, located in Apt, is much more than a winery. Founded over a thousand years ago, it is one of the oldest wine estates in the region, with origins dating back to the Middle Ages. This exceptional place combines historical heritage, winemaking expertise, and respect for the environment.

A remarkable historical heritage
Château de Mille is the oldest winery in the Luberon, with a history that dates back to 1238. For centuries, this iconic site has embodied the cultural and agricultural heritage of Provence. Carefully restored by its current owners, Constance and Lawrence Slaughter, the château retains its timeless charm: vaulted halls, ancient stones, and a unique atmosphere that transports visitors back in time.

An exceptional terroir for wines of excellence
Situated on clay-limestone soils, the vineyard of Château de Mille benefits from an exceptional terroir, perfect for producing high-quality wines. The carefully selected grape varieties, cultivated across 28 hectares of vineyards in organic conversion, give rise to outstanding wines: reds, whites, and rosés, celebrated for their finesse, balance, and character.

Respectful and sustainable winemaking
Since its acquisition by passionate owners in 2018, Château de Mille has committed to an organic conversion process to protect its terroir and ensure the quality of its wines, achieving certification in 2021. The goal is clear: to craft wines that faithfully reflect the exceptional Luberon terroir while respecting the environment. The balance between innovation and tradition is reflected in practices such as minimal use of sulfites, manual harvesting, and meticulous care in aging. At Château de Mille, every cuvée celebrates the richness of a preserved terroir and a commitment to sustainability.
