With its Rognes stone walls, and location near the charming village of Lourmarin, it is a dream location for a simple tasting in its chapel or a week's holiday with the family.

The first mention of the priory of Saint-Pierre de Mejans dates back to 1118; it was then part of the possessions of the abbey of Saint André de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, confirmed by Pope Gelasius II. The archbishop of Aix spent two nights there in January 1343 and, while visiting the church, ordered the prior to knock down the partition that had been erected there and to transport the wine barrels stored there elsewhere. After the Revolution, Saint-Pierre de Mejans was seized as a national asset, then sold and transformed into a silkworm farm, while retaining its agricultural and wine-making activities. For nearly forty years, the priory has been in the same family and is one of the region's most emblematic sites, with its Gothic chapel, which was cut down by two bays following the earthquake of 11 June 1909, its interior courtyard and its vaulted rooms made of Rognes stone.

Also on the property is Le Mas de Puyvert, a private house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a heated swimming pool and an unoverlooked garden that offers total privacy.

The estate is in the process of being awarded the "Vignobles et découvertes" label and will soon be offering a themed trail through the vineyards.
