Journeys, here, elsewhere and beyond...

On Saturday 6 June 2026, the Moulin Saint-Julien hall in Cavaillon will host the 10th edition of Cav’Arts, a cultural event open to all, dedicated to literature, painting and photography.

Under the theme “Journeys, here, elsewhere and beyond...”, this new edition invites visitors to explore different forms of travel: journeys we experience, journeys we imagine, and journeys found in words, images, memories and encounters.

Throughout the day, nearly 40 writers, around ten painters and photographers, the Cavaillon Media Library, the Le Lézard Amoureux bookshop, Destination Luberon and local travel agencies from Cavaillon will be on hand to meet the public, share their worlds and guide visitors through their discoveries.

Meet-the-author sessions, exhibitions, reading tips, music, family activities and a journey into the past will shape this friendly cultural day in the heart of Cavaillon.

Throughout the day

On the forecourt of the Moulin Saint-Julien hall, local travel agencies from Cavaillon and Destination Luberon will welcome visitors to share information, discoveries and conversations about their activities.

Inside the hall, the Cavaillon Media Library and the Le Lézard Amoureux bookshop will present their books, share their recommendations and guide festival-goers through their literary discoveries.

The guests of honour at Cav’Arts 2026

Carole and Stéphane Ruel

Carole and Stéphane Ruel have chosen poetry as their shared language. When the author meets the photographer, words and images enter into dialogue to create a unique, sensitive and deeply personal universe.

Their work does more than tell or explain. It opens up a space for interpretation, where each visitor can be carried away by emotion, the beauty of an image or the evocative power of a text.

Olivier Allemand

A native of Vaucluse, Olivier Allemand writes about Provence, his childhood in Cavaillon and this region that means so much to him. Through his writing, he invites readers on a journey that is close to home, intimate and deeply rooted in the local area.

His perspective shines a light on a Provence that is lived, felt and passed on. A Provence of memory, landscapes, attachments and shared stories.

The children of Prehistory
Cav’Arts also offers a highlight for families, inviting them on a journey into our past.

Led by Pedro Lima, writer and science journalist, the talk “Do you know who the children of Prehistory were?” invites children and adults to discover the life of children in the Palaeolithic period in a new way, through history, science and imagination.

The experience continues with a free, playful workshop led by Océane Corallo, a cultural mediator specialising in archaeology. Children will explore daily life in the Palaeolithic period through games, learning activities and the modelling of a small clay figurine to take home.
