A Schubert evening in Grambois Lieder, piano & chamber music

An immersion into Franz Schubert’s poetic world

This Schubertiade evening brings together some of Franz Schubert’s best-known works, including the hugely popular Military March and the brilliant Fantasia in F minor for piano four hands.

The programme also showcases several iconic Lieder, including Erlkönig and Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel, two works in which the power of the text meets the intensity of the music.

Two rarer pieces, Auf dem Strom and The Shepherd on the Rock, enrich this musical journey. In these works, Carole Meyer’s luminous soprano dialogues with the wind instruments, between Romantic depth, vocal clarity and suspended emotion.
