Located in the charming village of Mérindol, between the Durance and the South Luberon, La Terrasse des Cigales is a must for lovers of Provence. Housed in a modest stone house, this restaurant serves authentic Provencal cuisine, prepared with care by Mathieu and Sébastien, two enthusiasts of local gastronomy.
Here, the emphasis is on local, seasonal produce sourced from the region's best producers: vegetables and olive oil from the village's ancestral mill, tender, flavoursome lamb from the Alpilles, fish from the Bay of Cannes, beef from the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, selected for its exceptional quality, as well as beer and apple juice from the neighbouring fields and orchards.
The menu features the great classics of Provençal cuisine: aïoli, monkfish bourride and wood-fired shoulder of lamb, a must for meat lovers.
In summer, enjoy a terrace shaded by fig and mulberry trees, surrounded by the bory stones typical of the region, while the song of the cicadas adds an authentic note to your experience. In winter, you'll find a cosy atmosphere in the wood-fired kitchen. The antique furniture and rustic atmosphere add a touch of authenticity and charm.
