Discover the world of truffle cultivation

Did you know that truffle cultivation originated in the Vaucluse? For several years now, it has been the leading truffle-producing region in France, thanks to its Mediterranean climate! Truffles are exceptional products that grow underground at the foot of certain oak trees. Truffles themselves aren’t planted, but truffle-bearing trees are. Did you know there are different types of truffles? Here in the Luberon, you’ll find the summer truffle, known as “Tuber Aestivum,” which is less rare, less aromatic, and more affordable than the famous winter truffle, “Tuber Melanosporum,” renowned for its stronger flavor.
