Le Boléro des Exilés explores a universal and deeply relevant subject: exile. Inspired by Euripides’ Heracleidae, this production brings ancient tragedy into dialogue with the contemporary realities faced by people forced to flee their homeland.
On stage, a theatre company is rehearsing the ancient work when current events suddenly disrupt its daily life. The classical story begins to resonate with present-day conflicts, forced departures and the experiences of those seeking refuge far from home.
Bernard Magny’s original music and traditional songs of exile accompany this encounter between different eras. Theatre, music and emotion come together in an immersive production performed by the Le TRAC theatre company from Beaumes-de-Venise.
