The La Roque d'Anthéron International Piano Festival stops in Gordes with two exceptional musical evenings around the piano in a unique outdoor setting.

As part of the 46th edition of the International Piano Festival of La Roque d’Anthéron, the Théâtre des Terrasses in Gordes will host two exceptional concerts on 26 and 27 June 2026 at 9 pm.
These two evenings, presented as part of the Festival Preludes, invite audiences to experience the emotion of piano music in the open air, in the heart of a remarkable Provençal setting. With great performers, masterpieces of the repertoire and a summer atmosphere, Gordes becomes an exceptional musical stage for one weekend.
Recognised as one of the major international events dedicated to piano music, the festival brings together renowned artists and emerging talents every year around a programme that is refined, moving and open to all audiences.
On Friday 26 June 2026 at 9 pm, pianist Jean-Philippe Collard opens these evenings in Gordes with a programme bringing together Bach, Ravel and Rachmaninov, as part of the Festival Preludes.
From the architectural strength of Bach’s Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C major to the refined colours of Ravel, with the Pavane pour une infante défunte, the Sonatine and excerpts from Miroirs, this recital traces a sensitive journey through clarity, depth and musical imagination.
The evening continues with Rachmaninov’s Moments musicaux, intense and expressive pieces in which the piano reveals its full evocative power.
On Saturday 27 June 2026 at 9 pm, pianist Philippe Bianconi presents a recital devoted to Schumann, Liszt and Ravel at the Théâtre des Terrasses in Gordes.
With Schumann’s Kinderszenen and Fantasiestücke, the programme opens onto an intimate, poetic and deeply Romantic world, where each piece seems to bring an image, a memory or an emotion to life.
Liszt’s evocative works, with Les jeux d’eau à la Villa d’Este and St Francis of Paola Walking on the Waves, lead into the fascinating power of Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit, a summit of the piano repertoire, full of mystery, virtuosity and refinement.
