Discover the secrets of bees at Les Ruchers des Mességuières in Lauris
Les Ruchers des Mességuières is a beekeeping farm located in Lauris, in the heart of the Luberon in Provence.
The owners, Philippe and Elisabeth, are passionate beekeepers who have 400 transhumant hives during the summer months. They open the doors of their farm to the public to show them how bees live and how honey is extracted. From May onwards, the honey is produced on site in their honey house and then put into jars.
You can also taste their organically produced honeys.
As well as the bees, a dozen or so ewes graze freely on their land - you're sure to come across them on your walk!
Les Ruchers des Mességuières also welcomes school groups, after-school groups and works councils.
If you want to immerse yourself in authentic Provence, they also offer a gîte for 4 to 6 people on their farm. This is a great opportunity to discover the life of bees, taste local honey and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Provencal countryside!
Every year they take an active part in the "De ferme en ferme®" event dedicated to Sustainable Agriculture, which takes place on the last weekend in April.
See you at the next event on 27 & 28 April 2024!
