The Rochers de Baude hike can be done all year round, but spring and autumn offer the best experience: blooming flowers, dramatic light on the cliffs, and pleasant temperatures.
In summer, start your hike early in the morning to avoid the heat and check the access conditions for forested areas, as this route crosses fire-sensitive zones.

Starting from the town hall of Les Taillades, this 6 km loop takes you up into the wild and spectacular Rochers de Baude. The trail quickly leaves rural paths behind to dive into the narrow Badarel gorges, where a short ladder helps hikers over a steep section. The effort is soon rewarded with breathtaking views over the limestone cliffs and the Petit Luberon range.
Crossing the Castellas breach, you enter an impressive mineral world: rock shelters (baumes), ledges, and rocky spurs shaped by time. The descent toward the Boulon spring offers a more bucolic atmosphere, with clearings and Mediterranean woods, until you reach the old village of Les Taillades once again.
This route is a chance to immerse yourself in an authentic and preserved Provence, rich in history, fascinating geology, and remarkable biodiversity.
Restricted access to forest areas in summer
Check the prefectural decrees before any outing in the Luberon or Monts de Vaucluse.
Why not continue the adventure?
Around Les Taillades, other trails invite you to explore the landscapes of the Petit Luberon. The Pied Caud hill loop, more accessible, is a great warm-up. And for lovers of stunning views and heritage, the trails around Robion, Cheval-Blanc and Cavaillon are also well worth a visit!
