From the heart of the village of Robion, this 7.3 km loop takes you up into the heights of the Petit Luberon, between limestone cliffs and panoramic ridges. More sporty than family-friendly, it charms with the richness of its landscapes and the diversity of its atmospheres.

The path first winds through garrigue and woodland before reaching the spectacular Rochers de Baude. Here you can discover vast rock shelters and the impressive Castellas breach, witnesses of the massif’s geological history. Higher up, the route leads to the bare ridges of the Crâne de Colombier, offering sweeping views over the Alpilles, Mont Ventoux, and the Durance Valley.

The walk is also an immersion in a preserved natural environment. The dry grasslands and cliffs host remarkable flora and fauna, from rockroses to birds of prey, as well as numerous nesting bird species. On the way back, the descent gently leads to Robion, passing by the open-air theatre and the old lime kiln, reminders of the local rural and industrial heritage.

Between geological discoveries, breathtaking panoramas, and traces of a rich human past, this demanding hike offers a memorable adventure in the heart of the Petit Luberon.

When to go?

The Crâne de Colombier and Rochers de Baude hike is accessible most of the year, but it remains demanding due to its elevation gain and technical passages. Wear good shoes, bring plenty of water, and avoid the hottest hours in summer.

Before setting out, be sure to check the forest access conditions, which are regulated during the summer to prevent fire risks.

Why not extend your discovery?

Starting from the village of Les Taillades, this hike offers a different approach: shorter (6 km) but more “adventurous” with a ladder crossing, it allows you to explore the Badarel gorges and the cliffs of the Rochers de Baude. Less physical than the Robion loop, this circuit highlights rocky landscapes and local heritage in a condensed, characterful route.

Want a change of pace? Hop on your bike for the Robion - Lagnes - L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue route. A beautiful ride through plains and villages, between heritage and valley landscapes.
