Path under the Miocene cliffs and rock formations in Beaumettes

Starting from the square in front of Beaumettes Town Hall, this family-friendly loop takes you through garrigue and pine forest, along easy and well-marked paths. Accessible to everyone, it is an ideal walk to enjoy a peaceful immersion in nature.

Along the way, thematic markers punctuate the trail and highlight the richness of the local heritage. You will come across dry stone walls built by farmers, limestone slabs, surprising geological formations dating back to the Miocene, as well as typical plant species such as Aleppo pine and the giant orchid.

The path also reveals pages of history: it follows the Calavon Valley, a passageway since Antiquity, and offers a glimpse of the famous Via Domitia, the Roman road that once connected Italy to Spain. On the way, you may also observe the discreet fauna of the garrigue, such as red wood ants or the Proserpine butterfly.

A bucolic, short and easy walk that combines nature, geology and heritage for a sensory and family-friendly experience in the heart of the Luberon.
