Located in Puyvert, very close to Lourmarin, Château Saint-Pierre de Mejans is a 12th century wine estate where history, vines and the Provençal way of life meet.

The estate extends over more than 11 hectares of vineyards, olive trees and lavender. A former priory, the castle offers a unique journey through time, between medieval heritage and wine culture.
With its Rognes stone walls, its inner courtyard and its vaulted rooms, Saint-Pierre de Mejans is one of the emblematic places of the region.
During the Sunsets Vignerons, the estate opens its doors to you to share its history, its organic wines and its unique atmosphere in a friendly atmosphere.
Terroir & know-how

The winemaking history of the estate dates back to the 12th century, with the arrival of Benedictine monks who planted vines permanently around the priory.
Today, the estate pursues this know-how with traditional methods, while respecting the land. Harvesting is done by hand for white and red wines, with particular care taken at each stage of vinification.
The estate's wines have been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2024. Grenache noir, Carignan, Syrah, Rolle, Cinsault, Clairette, Grenache blanc, Viognier and Roussanne make up the wealth of cultivated grape varieties.
An old priory in the heart of Luberon
The first mention of the Saint-Pierre de Mejans priory dates back to 1118. It was then part of the possessions of the Abbey of Saint-André de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, confirmed by Pope Gélase II.
In January 1343, the archbishop of Aix spent two nights there. During his visit to the church, he ordered the prior to tear down a partition and move the wine barrels stored there.
After the Revolution, Saint-Pierre de Mejans was seized as national property, then sold and transformed into a magnanerie, while maintaining its agricultural and wine-growing activities.
Even today, the priory maintains a strong heritage identity, with its Romanesque chapel, its interior courtyard and its vaulted rooms made of Rognes stone.
