Save the dates, May 29, 30 and 31: the Voix Partagées Festival returns to Lauris for three vibrant, joyful and unforgettable days.

For this new edition, the festival celebrates South America. Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Argentina… Warm polyphonies, samba and choro rodas, cumbia and forró, circle songs and collective singing will bring the whole village to life.

Open to everyone, the festival invites you to share music, dance and voices in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Concerts, workshops, performances, classes and musical strolls will fill these three days.

On May 23 in Lauris, the Salle des Arcades hosts a festive day open to all, celebrating Cuban rhythms.

Friday, May 29

7:00 pm - Voice and Guitar Duo

Venue: LMV Media Library
Artists: Dominguay and Diego Trosman

From Argentine zamba to Uruguayan candombe, from Mexican bolero to Peruvian waltz, this voice and guitar duo explores the soul of Latin American popular music.

8:30 pm - Son Sinvergüenza

Venue: Café Villageois

African rhythms and Arab-Andalusian influences at the heart of son jarocho: a unifying music inviting everyone to sing, dance and celebrate in the spirit of the Mexican fandango.

11:30 am - Musical stroll through the bars

Venue: Village bars / Castle courtyard at 12:30 pm
Artists: Peewee & Manuel

Between Argentine tango, bossa nova and Latin rhythms, two long time musical partners take you on a sunny journey across South America. Join them in the cafés of Lauris for a musical aperitif around midday.

3:30 pm to 4:30 pm - Singing lecture

Venue: Espace Bloch
Title: The origins of Latin American music

Discover how Indigenous, Iberian and African traditions shaped the musical richness of Latin America. Presented by Dominguay.

5:00 pm to 6:00 pm - Singing stroll

Venue: In the village

The Latin American choir from Villelaure opens the programme, followed by an excerpt from the new creation by Duo Luzi Nascimento, Bodas de Choro. Several South American vocal quartets then perform before the festive presentation of the festival singing and percussion workshops.

6:00 pm to 7:30 pm - Roda de Choro

Venue: Castle courtyard
Artists: Linha Dois

Guitar, mandolin, melodica, flute and pandeiro. Five musicians perform close to the audience, joined by the Roda Choir for an intimate and festive roda de choro.

Followed by an immersion into Cordel with Vanina Lasseron.

7:30 pm to 8:15 pm - Forró initiation

Venue: Castle courtyard
With: Yann Cabôco

Before the dance, discover forró with Yann Cabôco, accordion player, singer and renowned forrozeiro, accompanied by live music. Vem brincar.

8:30 pm - Forró dance

Venue: Town Hall Square
Artists: Bando Pé d’Estrada

Four musicians rooted in the traditions of Northeast Brazil invite you to dance to the rhythm of forró. Ciranda, côco, maracatu and samba create a festive and generous atmosphere.

10:00 pm - La Cumbiamba

Venue: Town Hall Square
Artists: Cumbia Orchestra

Fourteen musicians and around thirty Colombian classics for an immersion into the vibrant celebrations of Barranquilla and the colourful streets of Cartagena. A gozar con La Cumbiamba.

Sunday, May 31

1:30 pm to 2:30 pm - Short performance

Venue: Espace Bloch
Show: Lolo, Cabaret Serpillière

When the bistro closes, the owner takes a moment for herself. Between mop and piano, a funny and touching puppet comes to life in an eight minute performance, presented three to five times between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

1:30 pm - Singing batucada

Venue: Castle courtyard
Artists: Grupo Orayéyé

Participatory workshop open to everyone. Brazilian percussion and traditional songs including afoxé, samba de roda and côco.

3:00 pm - Traditional songs

Venue: Church
Artists: Chorale Calle Sol

A choir of around thirty voices supported by Afro Latin percussion, marimba and violin. From Colombia to Peru, from Venezuela to Puerto Rico, the choir brings traditional songs to life with powerful collective energy under the direction of Chilean singer Patricia Gajardo.

5:00 pm - Concert performance

Venue: Castle courtyard
Show: The Adventures of Gaucho Ramón

After losing his horse, Gaucho Ramón travels across the continent in a poetic and humorous epic. Theatre, music and dance create a vibrant journey through Latin America.

6:00 pm - Latin American songs

Venue: Castle courtyard
Artists: Campeches

Four musicians from the South Luberon swap gardening tools for cuatro, double bass, guitar and percussion. From Colombia to Brazil, from Cuba to Argentina.

Followed by a Cantera

7:30 pm - Roda de Samba

Venue: Castle courtyard
Artists: Rodinha

Five musicians gathered around a table with the audience surrounding them. Welcome to the roda. In this traditional Brazilian format, Rodinha invites you to dance, sing and clap along to samba rhythms. A vibrant and friendly Brazilian celebration.

Saturday May 30 at 3:00 pm with Jean Claude Mourlevat, Astrid Lindgren Prize winner, reading excerpts from his novels accompanied by a musician for a literary and musical journey.

Refreshments, light meals and gourmet coffee available in the castle courtyard.
