Ascension weekend at the Lavender Museum Luberon

From Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, the Lavender Museum Luberon welcomes you to Cabrières-d’Avignon for a long weekend dedicated to Provence, aromatic plants and family-friendly activities.

Guided tours, audio-guided visits, creative workshops for children and sensory experiences will fill these four days of discovery focused on lavender, its cultivation and the region’s traditional know-how.

A family-friendly program to discover lavender in Provence

Each day, two guided tours entitled “The beautiful story of lavender in Provence” are offered at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM. They provide a deeper understanding of the history of lavender, its cultivation, distillation and the traditional practices associated with this emblematic plant of the Luberon.

For visitors who prefer to explore at their own pace, the audio-guided tour is available continuously from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Whether as a couple, with friends or family, everyone can take the time to discover the museum as they wish.

Every afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, children can take part in a creative workshop to make their own personalised lavender sachets. They choose their fabric and ribbon, then create their scented pouch using lavender and various aromatic plants such as thyme, mint, rosemary or basil.

Sensory workshops and a visit designed for children

On Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 AM, a sensory workshop invites participants to explore the world of aromatic plants and lavender. Scents, textures and natural materials become the starting point for a lively discovery, combining nature, perfumery and the aromatic plants of Provence.

This workshop is accessible from 8 years old, accompanied by a parent.

The museum also offers a route designed for younger visitors, including an audio-guided tour, a fun quiz and the award of a “young lavender grower” diploma at the end of the visit. A simple and enjoyable way to turn a museum visit into a real children’s activity in the Luberon.
