Camy is a contemporary sculptor and painter who creates works in bronze and stoneware, as well as inks on paper. Her work is an invitation to serenity and introspection, offering a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Camy's sculptures are distinguished by their pure forms, combining gentle curves and strong lines, with no superfluous details. Whether in bronze or stoneware, his works exude subtle, almost imperceptible movements, evoking breath, a gentle breeze or the shadow of a gesture.
Camy is particularly fond of chamotte stoneware, which she works in block modelling, i.e. by subtraction from the mass. After firing at a high temperature (around 1,280 degrees), she patinas her sculptures with wax and pigments, giving them a unique depth. Some of her stoneware pieces can also be made in bronze, adding another dimension to her art.
Camy's work draws its inspiration from a variety of cultures and periods. There are Asian and Mediterranean influences, as well as references to nature and femininity. Her sculptures, whether human or animal figures, express a range of emotions and attitudes, from serenity to contemplation.
