On Saturdays 26 September and 3 October 2026, the media libraries in Oppède and Robion offer a cyanotype workshop for young audiences. A chance to discover one of the earliest photographic processes and create a deep blue image using light and plants. Booking required.
The cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes. It creates an image recognisable by its deep blue colour, using light and elements placed on a sensitive surface.
During this workshop, participants create their own image using plants, shapes and transparency effects. A simple and poetic way to understand the link between photography, light and imprint.
Two events are offered within the LMV media library network: Saturday 26 September 2026 in Oppède and Saturday 3 October 2026 in Robion. The workshop is designed for young audiences and is available by reservation.
A creative activity to discover photography in a different way, through experimentation, nature and light.
The workshop explains how a support is prepared before being exposed to light.
Each participant imagines their own composition, plays with shapes and creates a personal image.
Light acts on the support and reveals an image with the characteristic blue tones of cyanotype.
The creation is made on a provided textile support, allowing everyone to leave with a unique object.
The tote bag becomes the surface for a personal image, born from light, composition and the choice of shapes.
No previous knowledge is required: the workshop is designed as an accessible, creative and friendly introduction.
