Presentation of the network and its media libraries

The Luberon Monts de Vaucluse Media Libraries Network currently includes 12 libraries and a reading point in the commune of Les Beaumettes. The central library is located in Cavaillon (LMV - Médiathèque La Durance). The others are in Cabrières d'Avignon, Lagnes, Robion, Les Taillades, Oppède, Maubec, Cheval-Blanc, Mérindol, Lauris, Lourmarin and Puyvert.

Objectives and missions of the network

Created to promote culture and education across the Luberon and Monts de Vaucluse area, the intercommunal Media Libraries Network offers a wide range of activities accessible to all audiences.

A wide range of activities and events

From early-learning workshops for children to cultural exhibitions for adults, as well as the many events throughout the year, the aim is to make culture vibrant and accessible to everyone.

Collections & available services

With more than 240,000 documents shared across all sites and nearly 400,000 loans each year, the LMV media libraries are a major cultural resource. Collections can be transferred between libraries by shuttle service for greater convenience, and the offer also includes board games, musical instruments, CD/DVD players as well as video games. Media Libraries Program

January to April 2026

For this new year, the Luberon Monts de Vaucluse media library network invites you to explore a territory with shifting boundaries, made up of contrasts, echoes and dialogues: that of cities and the countryside.

This theme, highlighted by Les Nuits de la Lecture, offers an opportunity to question our living spaces, real or imaginary, and the way they shape our identities, our practices and our relationships with the world. It opens up a fertile field of reflection where history, creation, memory and the future intersect.

Between urban appeal and rural roots, between density and breathing space, between abundant creation and living heritage, cities and the countryside are constantly responding to and enriching each other. Media libraries, places of exchange and discovery, are at the centre of this conversation, offering a programme that crosses genres and formats: author meetings, workshops, exhibitions, screenings, readings, shows and festive events. All these moments are designed to feed curiosity, spark discussion and strengthen the bonds that unite us.

From January to April, your media libraries are transformed into lively and intriguing places where culture can be experienced and explored on a daily basis. Welcome to your media libraries, more inspiring than ever!
