Join us in Lourmarin for a mysterious and immersive adventure in one of the most beautiful villages in France. Through the interactive tour "The Curse of Lourmarin", dive into a local legend passed down from generation to generation — the mysterious “gypsy curse”.
The story dates back to 1921: a community of gypsies was living in the then-ruined château. Brutally evicted by the new owner, wealthy industrialist Robert Laurent-Vibert, the gypsies are said to have cast a curse on the village and its people. Since then, unexplained tragedies — including the death of Albert Camus — have kept the legend alive… Legend or reality?
Your mission: recover the three fragments of a sacred triptych depicting the arrival of the Saintes Maries in Camargue. Only by reuniting these pieces can the curse be broken. Armed with a booklet and clues, you’ll explore the village's alleys and landmarks, solve accessible riddles, and follow in the footsteps of its most iconic characters.
This guided tour brilliantly blends authentic visual elements (vintage postcards, Napoleonic cadastral maps...) with historical anecdotes, offering a fun and cultural way to discover the village. The guide, a discreet accomplice in your quest, follows you along the way… until a surprising final revelation about the true origin of the mysterious graffito!
