On Saturday 24 October 2026 in Oppède, Thierry Vasseur and Jean-Pierre Maurel invite visitors to explore Pop Art, photography and creativity, in connection with the exhibition “Des Robots et des Rêves”.

Born in the 1950s, Pop Art appropriated images from mass culture and transformed them: advertising, comic books, cinema, photography, everyday objects and fantastic figures all became material for artistic creation.
Photographer Thierry Vasseur continues this approach by combining photography, fiction, popular culture and imagination. Together with Jean-Pierre Maurel, he invites visitors to explore several works and examine the connections between the artist’s intention, the image itself and each viewer’s imagination.
The talk offers a different perspective on photography and on the way images shape our references, our dreams and our perception of the contemporary world.
This talk extends the experience of Thierry Vasseur’s exhibition “Des Robots et des Rêves”, presented in Oppède. His work draws on popular culture, photography and fiction to question our relationship with images.
The talk will be followed by a friendly drink.
“A deep dive into Pop Art with Thierry Vasseur” is part of the Photography Bicentenary, a programme organised across the Luberon Monts de Vaucluse area to celebrate two centuries of photographic history, creativity and innovation.
