Ingmar Lazar, pianist, for a piano recital at the Château de Lourmarin

The Château de Lourmarin welcomes pianist Ingmar Lazar for a piano recital as part of the Summer Music Festival programme.

With a programme dedicated to Chopin, Liszt, Brahms and Mendelssohn, this evening celebrates major works of the Romantic piano repertoire, between intimacy, intensity and virtuosity.

In the heritage setting of the château, audiences are invited to experience a sensitive and expressive musical evening, carried by the depth of the Romantic piano.

An evening dedicated to the great Romantic repertoire

The first part opens with Chopin, in an atmosphere of intimacy and elegance, with the Nocturne Op. 72 No. 1 and the Mazurka “À Émile Gaillard”. The piano unfolds an intimate expression, full of finesse and nuance.

The programme continues with Liszt, between brilliance and reverie, then with Brahms’s Four Klavierstücke, Op. 119, late works by the composer, marked by inwardness, depth and expressive restraint.

After the interval, Mendelssohn’s Variations sérieuses, Op. 54 open a broader second part, before returning to Chopin with the Two Nocturnes, Op. 48, the Three Mazurkas, Op. 59 and the Polonaise, Op. 44, between poetry, intensity and virtuosic momentum.

Brahms’s Four Klavierstücke, Op. 119 are among the composer’s final works for piano. These short pieces concentrate great expressive intensity, between melancholy, tenderness and inner depth.
