Conservatory of Ochres and Color, Ôkhra brings together in one place the memory of pigments, the transmission of techniques, exciting visits, activities, courses and a specialized store. Here, color can be told, manipulated, understood and fully experienced.

A visit to Ōkhra immerses you in the astonishing history of the manufacture of pigments, their past and contemporary uses, in the heart of a rehabilitated industrial site that maintains all its uniqueness.

Guided by enthusiasts, visitors discover the stages of ochre processing, the techniques for making colors and the importance of this heritage in the identity of Roussillon. The guides reveal the secrets of the place with clarity, making the visit as accessible as it is rewarding.
The visit allows you to better understand the role of pigments in the history of arts, architecture, decorations and craft uses. It is also an opportunity to reconnect with a strong local memory, closely linked to the ochre landscapes of the Luberon.
Between heritage, science, technical gestures and transmission, Ôkhra offers a complete discovery of a universe that is as sensory as it is cultural.

Ōkhra can not only be visited, the place is also experienced through numerous workshops, activities and courses around color. These proposals are aimed at curious amateurs as well as enthusiasts who want to deepen their knowledge.
Activities are organized throughout the year for groups and schools. Other workshops are offered on request for individual visitors, as well as during school vacations, in order to allow everyone to experiment with pigments, materials and gestures related to color.
During the summer of 2026, creative workshops for all ages from 6 years old are announced from July 6 to August 28, at 10 am and 2:15 pm.
Handling, testing, touching ochres and understanding their use makes the experience particularly lively, fun and memorable.
After the visit, Ōkhra allows you to extend the experience thanks to a shop dedicated to pigments, materials and specialized books on color.

The counter offers a varied selection of ochres, pigments, natural soils, natural soils, dye plants, dyes, binders, tools, rare materials as well as practical books and beautiful books.
This offer is aimed at artists, artisans, decorators and lovers of fine arts as well as visitors who are simply curious to bring back an original souvenir linked to the world of color.
The specialized bookstore also allows you to deepen the discovery of the place and its know-how, while the shop offers the possibility of extending this immersion at home.
The eco-museum is accessible to visitors from February 9 to December 20 inclusive.
In April, the site is open 7 days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a final self-guided tour at 5:00 p.m.
In May, guided tours of the ochre eco-museum lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes are offered at 11 am and 4 pm.
It is also possible to visit the site independently from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the last visit leaving at 5 p.m.
