Located on the road to the Pont Julien, in Bonnieux, in the heart of the Luberon Regional Nature Park, Château la Canorgue is one of the most iconic wine estates in the Luberon. It charms visitors with its preserved natural setting, vineyards surrounded by wooded hills, and a family history deeply rooted in the terroir.
Château la Canorgue is the first organic wine estate in the Luberon, committed to organic farming since the 1970s. This long-standing engagement makes it a true reference for lovers of characterful wines and sustainable viticulture.
Château la Canorgue is the first organic estate in the Luberon, committed to this path for more than forty years.

The Canorgue vineyard has been a family estate passed down from generation to generation for more than two hundred years. In the 1970s, Jean-Pierre Margan, a pioneer of organic farming in the region, chose to convert the entire estate to organic methods and to showcase this exceptional terroir through high-quality wines.
His daughter Nathalie has taken over and now represents the fifth generation of winemakers. Together, they have shaped a distinctive identity, both faithful to tradition and open to the most demanding environmental practices.
At La Canorgue, respect for the vine and the land is not a marketing claim but a true philosophy of life. The estate is cultivated using certified organic farming and also follows the principles of biodynamics, recognised by several leading labels.
At La Canorgue, organic farming is not a trend but a tradition.
The estate produces AOP Luberon wines and local wines that reflect the freshness, minerality and generous character of the Luberon terroirs. La Canorgue cuvées are regularly awarded by wine guides and competitions, making them a reliable choice for discovering the wines of the region.
The Château la Canorgue cellar, dedicated to ageing AOP Luberon wines.
Château la Canorgue became internationally famous after serving as the main filming location for A Good Year (Une grande année), directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe. Scenes shot in the vineyard and around the farmhouse helped showcase the landscapes of the Luberon to a wide international audience.
Cinema brought La Canorgue to the world, but it is the quality of its wines that makes it a true reference.
The estate is first and foremost a family property and a working winery. It is not possible to visit the château, the cellars or the winemaking facilities.
However, the tasting cellar is open to visitors who wish to discover and purchase the estate’s wines. Tastings may be free or guided depending on attendance and staff availability.
At La Canorgue, the experience is lived in the tasting cellar, close to the wines.
From Château la Canorgue, you can easily explore the hilltop villages of the Luberon and the region’s emblematic landscapes. The estate is located near the Pont Julien, an ancient Roman bridge, as well as numerous hiking trails and cycling routes.
La Canorgue is an ideal gateway to explore the landscapes and flavours of the Luberon.
