When colour and humanity resist war

Photograph from the Éclats de vie, or When Colour Resists exhibition by Véronique de Viguerie in Oppède

Through her work in conflict zones, photojournalist Véronique de Viguerie offers a deeply human perspective on those living through war. Refusing to reduce people to their suffering, she focuses instead on what endures in the face of adversity.

Her photographs reveal the dignity, solidarity, smiles, colours and impulses of life that persist despite conflict. Behind the ruins and fighting are lives, dreams, relationships and a remarkable capacity to keep going.

Éclats de vie, or When Colour Resists invites visitors to see war from another perspective, one in which humanity remains stronger than violence.
