On 19 and 20 September 2026 in Cavaillon, the European Heritage Days offer three guided tours: the Saint-Charles caves, Jewish-Comtadin heritage and religious buildings.

For the 43rd European Heritage Days, Cavaillon explores the theme “Heritage at risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine”. Three guided tours trace the town’s history through places that have evolved, changed use or been transformed over the centuries.
The caves beneath Saint-Charles College, used from Antiquity to the Second World War, reveal a heritage that is sometimes familiar and sometimes little known.
The journey continues through the history of the Jews of the Pope, Cavaillon’s former synagogue and the transformation of religious heritage in the 19th century, from the cathedral and Romanesque chapel to neo-Gothic architecture.
Three guided tours explore several centuries of Cavaillon’s history. Each visit focuses on a different aspect of the town’s heritage: underground sites, Jewish-Comtadin history and the transformation of religious buildings.
