Cadenet Castle perched on its hill

From Lourmarin, this trail leads you through the heart of the southern Luberon. After leaving the village with its typical narrow streets and majestic Renaissance château, the route crosses the plain, lined with vineyards and olive trees.

Along the way, you’ll discover the Château de Cadenet, proudly perched on its rocky outcrop, offering exceptional views over the Durance Valley. Though in ruins, the site bears witness to a fascinating feudal past.

Step by step, the hike reveals remarkable natural and cultural heritage: dry stone walls, terraced landscapes, troglodyte dwellings, historical remains, and even the Basketry Museum in Cadenet, highlighting the region’s artisanal tradition.
