✔ Loop
✔ Distance: 4.2 km
✔ Waymarking: PR® yellow

This easy 4.2 km loop, waymarked in yellow (PR), starts from the La Garrigue car park in Mérindol. You'll first take an accessible section for all, certified “Tourism & Disability”, before heading toward a viewpoint overlooking the Durance Valley. Caution, cliff edge!
The trail continues along a ridge path, then descends into a cultivated valley. You will cross a small bridge over an old irrigation canal, reach a birdwatching observatory overlooking the Mallemort lake, and return via a pleasant path along the old canal.
All this within a sensitive natural area where scrubland, riparian forest, wetlands and wildlife thrive: ocellated lizard, ortolan bunting, Mediterranean tree frog, as well as grey heron and mute swan...
This easy loop trail can be enjoyed all year round, but it’s most pleasant in spring and autumn, when the vegetation is lush, birds are singing, and the light is soft and peaceful.
In summer, plan an early start to avoid the heat and make sure to check the forest access conditions.
